I sure wish I had known how to make this economical and refreshing treat before today but alas, better late than never. This will be my go-to summer dessert since I still have not got the nerve up to buy an ice cream machine (or a kitchen mixer, air fryer or waffle maker). Point is, I am a fan of recipes that do not require expensive and space-occupying appliances to be successful.

Ingredients:
2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons lime juice
3-4 drops red food colouring (optional)
Directions:
Place all ingredients in freezer safe bowl and stir well to dissolve sugar. Place in freezer and after 2 hours stir to break up ice crystals. Return to freezer and repeat 1 hour later. Continue to break up ice crystals and return to freezer at intervals until the granita is uniformly icy. Enjoy!

I can just taste it now! I wonder if you could use other fruits..say strawberries or mango?
